On August 16th of 2022 New Dublin (New London, Wisconsin USA) became a ‘town twin’ with Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland. Killaloe is a popular tourist destination on the River Shannon with many recreational opportunities. It has a rich history associated with Brian Ború who was high king of Ireland. Each year they have a St. Patrick’s Day parade and a Féile Brian Ború festival.

New London is renamed New Dublin each year for a week of St. Patrick’s day festivities. Many Irish settled northwest of New London as the landscape may have reminded them of Ireland. Three rivers make the New London area a natural water park for river tubing, canoeing, and kayaking opportunities in the summer.
